This page lists all corrections, updates, and changes we've made to our content. We don't hide our mistakes. If we published something that turned out to be wrong, we fix it and note it here with the date and what changed. This page is updated whenever we make a correction.

Jan 2026	Coastal Drives — Noto Peninsula	Updated the Noto Peninsula route to reflect road closures from the January 2024 earthquake. The northern tip of the peninsula (Suzu to Rengo) remains closed as of January 2026. We added an alternate route that detours inland via Route 249 and reconnects with the coast at Sosogi. We also updated the gas station warning — the closure has made the eastern side even more isolated, and we now recommend filling up in Wajima before continuing around the east coast. Thanks to reader T. Nakamura for flagging the changed conditions.
Feb 2026	Fishing Harbors — Yobuko	Updated the Yobuko morning market hours. The market previously opened at 7am; it now opens at 7:30am as of October 2025. The squid boats still come in around 5am, but the retail market stalls have shifted their hours later. We also updated the restaurant recommendation — Ika Honke has changed ownership and the quality has dipped slightly. We now recommend Ika Center near the market as an alternative for fresh squid sashimi.
Feb 2026	Seaside Onsen — Ibusuki	Updated the Ibusuki Hakusuikan sand bath price from 1,100 yen to 1,300 yen. The facility raised prices in December 2025. The hours remain the same (8:30am-9pm, last entry 8:30pm). We also confirmed that they remain tattoo-friendly.
Mar 2026	Wind Cities — Kanazawa	Updated the Omicho market opening hours. The market now opens at 8:30am on weekdays (previously 8am) and remains at 8am on weekends. This change was made by the market association in January 2026 to reduce weekday morning congestion.
Apr 2026	Coastal Drives — Amakusa	Updated ferry information for the Misumi-Amakusa route. The ferry schedule has been reduced to two departures per day (previously three) as of March 2026 due to lower passenger numbers. Last departure from Misumi is now 3:30pm instead of 5pm. We also updated the fare from 2,500 yen to 2,800 yen one way.
May 2026	Fishing Harbors — Katsuura	The unnamed blue-tarpaulin maguro-don restaurant we recommended has closed permanently. The owner retired in April 2026. We now recommend Maguro-donya, a nearby stall that opened in the same market area in March 2026. Similar quality maguro-don for 1,100 yen. Updated the article with the new recommendation.
Jun 2026	Coastal Drives — Oshima Island	Updated the Tokai Kisen ferry fare from 4,100 yen to 4,500 yen one way. The fare increase took effect in April 2026. Private cabin fares also increased from 7,500 yen to 8,200 yen. We confirmed the schedule remains at one departure per day at 8:30am from Takeshiba Terminal.

Mar 2025	Wind Cities — Hakodate	Updated the Hakodate ropeway hours. Winter hours (December-February) now end at 9pm instead of 10pm. The ropeway also closes for maintenance for one week in late January — we added a note to check the official website before visiting in winter.
Jun 2025	Seaside Onsen — Dogashima	The Dogashima Onsen Hotel temporarily closed for renovations from July to September 2025. We added a note about the closure and recommended the nearby Dogashima New Ginsui as an alternative for rotenburo access during the renovation period. The main hotel reopened in October 2025.
Sep 2025	Fishing Harbors — Sakaiminato	Updated the crab season opening date from November 7 to November 6. The Tottori Prefecture Fisheries Cooperative moved the season start one day earlier starting in 2025. All other crab season information remains the same.
Nov 2025	Coastal Drives — Izu Peninsula	Updated the Jogasaki boat tour schedule. Tours now run every 40 minutes instead of every 30 minutes, and the last tour is at 3:30pm instead of 4pm (winter schedule). Summer hours remain unchanged. Price increased from 1,300 yen to 1,500 yen.
Dec 2025	Wind Cities — Niigata	Updated the Pia Bandai fish market information. The market has undergone renovation and the layout has changed. The best stalls are now concentrated on the ground floor (previously spread across two floors). The nodoguro set meal price at Kaizan increased from 2,200 yen to 2,500 yen.

How We Handle Corrections

When we learn about an error in our content, we follow this process:

Step 1: Verify the correction. If a reader reports a change, we try to verify it independently before making an update. For minor changes (price increases, hour changes), we check official websites or call the business directly. For major changes (road closures, business closures), we try to confirm from multiple sources. If we can't verify a reader tip, we'll note it as "unconfirmed" rather than changing the article.

Step 2: Update the article. We edit the relevant article to reflect the corrected information. We don't just append a note at the bottom — we integrate the correction into the main text so that new readers see the accurate information from the start.

Step 3: Log the correction here. We add a row to the table above with the date, the article, and a description of what changed. This creates a transparent record of our errors and fixes.

Step 4: Acknowledge the source. If the correction came from a reader tip, we thank the reader by first name (if they gave us permission) in the correction note. We don't offer compensation for tips — just our gratitude and a more accurate website.

Submit a Correction

If you spot an error in our content — outdated prices, changed hours, a closed restaurant, a road that's no longer passable — we want to know. Email us at crew@kaze-view.com with "Correction" in the subject line. Include as much detail as you can: what article, what information is wrong, and what the correct information is. If you have a photo or a link to an official source, even better.

We read every correction email and act on them as quickly as our travel schedule allows. We can't promise to verify every tip immediately — if we're on a research trip in a remote area, it might take a week or two — but we do promise to take your tip seriously and follow up.
