We don't use third-party cookies, except in limited circumstances described below.

These cookies do not collect any personal information. They do not track you. They cannot be disabled because without them, the website would not work correctly — you'd see the cookie banner on every page, and your preferences wouldn't be saved.

Reading Cookies (Off by Default)

These cookies help us understand which content on our site is most popular. They tell us things like: "Someone in California spent 8 minutes reading the Noto Peninsula article" or "The Izu Coast page got 150 views this week."

The data is completely anonymized. We cannot identify individual visitors from this data. We don't know your name, your email, or anything about you personally. We just know that a certain number of people visited a certain page for a certain amount of time.

We use this information to decide which coastal regions to cover next. If we see that a lot of people are reading about Shikoku, we might prioritize Shikoku content in our travel schedule. If a page about a specific harbor isn't getting many views, we might not update it as frequently. This helps us allocate our limited resources (three writers, limited time) to the content that matters most to our readers.

These cookies are disabled by default. You can enable them if you want to help us improve our content. If you leave them disabled, the site works exactly the same — we just won't know which pages you visited.

Partner Cookies (Off by Default)

These cookies are only activated if you click a link to one of our partner services. Currently, our only partners are car rental companies (Toyota Rent-a-Car and Times Car Rental) that we mention in our coastal drive articles.

When you click a partner link, a cookie is set that lets the rental company know you came from our site. This helps us maintain our partnership relationships. It does not give the rental company access to any information about you other than the fact that you clicked from kaze-view.com.

These cookies are disabled by default and require your explicit consent. If you never click a partner link, these cookies will never be set. If you do click a partner link but have these cookies disabled, the link will still work — the rental company just won't know you came from us.

How to Manage Cookies

Do Not Track

Some browsers have a "Do Not Track" setting that sends a signal to websites requesting that they not track your activity. Our website respects this signal. If you have Do Not Track enabled, we will not set reading cookies or partner cookies, regardless of your cookie banner selection.
